KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s golf team maintained its form with women’s individual representative Nur Durriyah Damian in fourth, after shooting to an aggregate of one-under-par 141 at the Mines Resort and Golf Club, earlier today.
Durriyah, who is making her fourth appearance at the Sea Games, is on a five-shot deficit from clubhouse leader Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul, who carded an average of six-under-par 166.
Thailand’s Thitapa Pakdesettakul, too, is in the lead as she ends her day with a 166 while Filipina Lois Kaye Go, who shot a two-under-par 140, is in third place going into the final round.
Other Malaysian representatives such as Ashley Lau and Loy Hee Ying finished in fifth and sixth, respectively, after they carded a 142 and 144.
Meanwhile, in the men’s category, Ervin Chang bettered his score from yesterday’s 72 to a 71 to finish in 11th, which is also Malaysia’s best finishing in this category, playing to an aggregate of one-over-par 143.
Leading the men’s challenge are Singaporean Gregory Foo and Marc Ong as well as Thailand’s Kosuka Hamamoto, who all shot to an aggregate of seven-under-par 135.
Malaysian Danial Durisic carded four bogeys and a double bogey to end his round with a 74 for a combined two-day total of two-over-par 144 to close on 13th while captain Chan Tuck Soon bettered his 75 from round one to a 71 to bump up to 16th as Galven Green finished his day on 18th position following his round of 73.
The final round of golf continues tomorrow at the Mines Resort and Golf Club.
