KUALA LUMPUR: Former world junior champion Goh Jin Wei will not have to miss the KL Sea Games after all.
The BA of Malaysia (BAM) confirmed today that the injured shuttler will recover in time after an magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan.
BAM technical director Morten Frost disclosed that the ankle injury Jin Wei sustained at the Asian Championships in Jakarta on Monday was not as serious as thought.
“Jin Wei underwent two MRI scans (yesterday) and the results have shown that the injury is not serious,” said Frost.
“We expect that she will be able to resume normal training after a week of rehab.”
Sea Games chef-de-mission Datuk Marina Chin visited the badminton squad at the National Badminton Academy in Bukit Kiara today.
