KOTA KINABALU: Stop engaging in the blame game when it comes to addressing bullying cases, said Umno youth deputy chief Senator Khairul Azwan Harun.

Khairul was referring to recent bullying cases which resulted in the deaths of navy cadet Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain, 21 and teenager T. Nhaveen from Penang.

“This is not the time to point fingers at teachers or schools (on what happened to assaulted students).

“Everything should start from the home and family members should inculcate positive values among the young generation,” he said during a Ramadan Kareem event here.

Khairul added the role of a political party especially its youth wings is to engage with the local leaders, schools and students to address the issue.

He also lauded Sabah and Sarawak for their spirit of harmony, adding that their high level of tolerance and mutual understanding should become a benchmark for the people in Peninsular Malaysia.

Earlier, Khairul presented contributions to 50 orphans from Yayasan Kebajikan Suria from Tuaran.

Also present was state Umno youth chief Yamani Hafez Musa.
