KOTA BELUD: Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak calls on all government agencies in the state to always collaborate with the Sabah Federal Treasury to implement government programmes which have been proven effective in helping the people.
He said the collaboration under the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) in providing certain services to the people was very much needed by rural people or communities in remote areas.
“The implementation of such programmes for the people is in line with the implementation of the Urban Transformation Centre for urban communities and rural transformation programmes for communities in rural areas,” he said when opening the 2018 Employment Carnival and Mobile Community Transformation Centre here today.
The minister said the government hoped the two-day programme, which began yesterday, would also bring about social transformation to the people to enable the country to progress and prosper.
“I was made to understand that more than 30 government agencies offering 100 types of services, as well as 20 employers with up to 500 job opportunities, are taking part in the programme.
“All services offered here are free of charge, such as health examination, family planning consultation and distribution of helmets and essential items... these free services are part of the efforts undertaken by the government that never neglects the people, including in Sabah,” he said.
In this regard, Salleh also called on all communities in Kota Belud, especially the young people to seize the opportunity and enjoy all the facilities provided by the government during the programme.
“This NBOS programme is the first to be held in Sabah this year and Kota Belud was chosen as the curtain raiser to this initiative, so I hope that the mission to popularise such public services will be enjoyed by all residents in this district.
“Well done to the Labour Department, Sabah Federal Treasury, Public Service Commission, and all government departments that have successfully organised this programme and I hope it will continue in other areas to serve the people,” he added.
At the same time, Salleh said the organising of the programme was made possible due to the political and economic stability of the country.
“We also want the stability of this country to give the government the chance to provide employment opportunities to the people,” he said. -- BERNAMA
