PUTRAJAYA: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa announced the appointment of Dr Mohd Gazali Abas as the new Human Resources Ministry’s secretary-general effective today.

Gazali, who is the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan) director, has served in the public sector for 31 years, starting from Jan 31, 1986.

“He has vast experience in the field of human resources as well as in project and financial management.

“Gazali has an honours degree in Economics (Rural Development Economy) from Universiti Malaya; a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and a doctorate in Information and Telecommunication Studies from Waseda University, Japan,” said Ali in a statement.

Other positions held by Gazali included Human Resources Ministry’s deputy secretary-general (operations), and Economic Planning Unit’s Human Capital Development Section director.
