HULU SELANGOR: The lorry driver who moved against traffic flow along the North-South Expressway before his heavy vehicle collided with another lorry on Sunday will be charged tomorrow.
Hulu Selangor police chief Superintendent Lim Bak Phai said the 37-year-old driver would be brought to Kuala Kubu Sessions Court to be charged under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“The lorry driver who works for a medical supplier company will be charged at 9am tomorrow under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving recklessly and dangerously,” he said in a statement today.
Earlier, NSTP reported that the man drove against traffic for about 3km after exiting the Sungai Buaya toll plaza before his vehicle collided with another lorry at KM432, southbound, at about 9.15am.
Checks revealed that the man possesses no driving licence, has 64 unpaid summonses, and that there are 36 arrest warrants against him.
He was tested negative for drugs and was brought to Kuala Kubu Hospital for blood samples for alcohol test and to be sent to the Chemistry Department.
